Effectenman Nick Finlayson ‘the real Q’ overleden

Nick Finlayson is overleden, meldt fansite From Sweden with Love. Finlayson werkte als special effects technician mee aan alle Bond-films tussen A View to a Kill uit 1985 en Skyfall uit 2012. Hij zorgde ervoor dat de gadgets van Q werkte. Nick Finlayson is 63 jaar geworden, aldus de website van BAFTA.

Het aantal bekende filmtitels waaraan Finlayson meewerkte is groot. Naast tien Bond-films was hij onder andere werkzaam voor Aliens (1986), Highlander II (1991), Cliffhanger (1993), The Fifth Element (1997), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 en 2 (2010/2011), Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011), Mary Poppins Returns (2018). De laatste filmproductie waaraan hij meewerkte is de meest recente Spider-Man die dit jaar moet uitkomen.
